   College Regulations......

The College regulations binding a student are as follows:

Attendance:

All students enrolled at this institution are required to attend a minimum of 15 (fifteen) hours’ lectures per week requirement, under the Home Office regulations. In fact, the academic regulations of the College, requires a greater attendance than this minimum statutory figure.

A full time student at this institute must spend a certain amount of time in directed study, reading in the library and doing set assignments. If the students fail to do this then he/she will not attain the academic standards required for the award of the degree. This means that every student enrolled must spend a minimum of 21 (twenty one) hours per week on academic matters.

The college does not recommend students for their examinations if their attendance falls below 80%. In the case of absence the college must be promptly informed. A medical certificate is required if the student has more than three days of consecutive absence owing to illness.

Procedure for dealing with poor attendance:

It is the College's policy to monitor student's attendance continuously. Evidence indicates that there is a strong correlation between attendance at lectures and other module components, and exam outcomes, and the College wishes to maintain an attendance policy that clearly indicates expected levels of commitment by students to their work, whilst at the same time having sufficient flexibility so as not to impose unreasonable constraints on students.

The Registrar and the Senior Administrator will be responsible for examining all the attendance registers on a daily basis.

1. The policy is that all students are required to attend at least 80% of all lectures, seminars, exercise classes, project meetings, tutorials and other forms of teaching developed by the Course Coordinator / Class Tutor. This also applies to the submission of exercises and other assessment associated with each module.

2. If it is discovered that a student has been absent for four expected contacts/classes or if attendance falls below the required 80%, the student will be sent the first warning email by the Registrar or the Senior Administrator. Should there be no response; a final warning email is sent after the student has missed eight expected contacts. Finally, if the student continues to be absent for up to ten expected contacts, a report is sent to the UK Border Agency and the student subsequently notified of enrolment cancellation.

3. Discretion will be used in the application of the policy for students who are near the borderlines of the attendance requirements. This will apply in cases where the overall attendance of the student is good and where there is clear evidence that the student does not appear to be at risk of failing the course. This evidence would be expected to include having attained good results in assessments for the course undertaken at that point and having a good prior academic record.

4. Authorised absences: If a student knows they will not be able to attend for a specified session they must notify the Registrar in advance either in person or via email. If a student is unable to attend on the day for unanticipated reasons (such as illness or a family emergency) they should contact either the Class Tutor or the Registrar as soon as is practicable and provide evidence (if applicable).

Punctuality:

Being late for classes is not only detrimental to the academic process of the late comer, but also disruptive for the entire class. Students arriving late may be marked absent. Persistent offenders may be suspended from the college. All full time students are expected to attend daytime classes for a minimum of 15 hours per week.

Registration with External Awarding Body:

All students at the College must register with the relevant awarding body as a student member as soon as they commence the course. Also they must get registered for the examination before the last date of exam entry set by the awarding bodies. The College Administration expects it's students to get registered with the awarding body within four weeks time from the commencement date of the course. The Registrar of the College may take appropriate action if any student does not register with the awarding body within the stated timeframe.

Books and Stationary:

The college provides students with the list of recommended textbooks and other relevant course materials. Students are expected to buy their own books and stationary.

Conduct:

Students are expected to conduct themselves responsibly on the college campus. Any misconduct may result in suspension of the student from the college.

Payments by Cheques/Drafts:

Please note that a minimum of five clear working days has to be allowed for clearance of cheques drawn on UK banks and 14 days in case of foreign drafts. A fee of £50.00 (Fifty Pounds) will be debited to the students account if the Bank returns a cheque or a UK draft unpaid. The fee will be £100.00 (One Hundred Pounds) in case of foreign drafts.

Tuition Fee Refund Procedure & Conditions:

a. Tuition Fees are non-refundable if after the commencement of the course, the student stops attending or leaves the course before its completion. Also they are not refundable if the student is suspended from the college or is absent due to illness.
b. Students requiring a student visa to enter or remain in the UK may claim a refund of the tuition fees paid (less an administrative charge of one hundred fifty pounds) only if their visa application has been refused and the College is informed prior to the commencement of the course. Students are required to send the original copy of the refusal letter, the copy of passport page bearing the refusal seal provided from the UK Border Agency of their country of origin and a receipt for the fees paid. If the College is not informed of the refusal before the commencement of the course or within twenty-eight days from the receipt of the refusal, the course fee for one semester will be deducted.  Please note that if the student is appealing against the decision of the UK Border Agency then a refund will only be made once a decision on his/her appeal has been made.
c. On the student's request and on the recommendation of the Director of Operations, the fees already paid may be transferred to the same course commencing at a later date.
d. Fees are refunded if for any reason the College is unable to provide the course or any alternative course. Tuition fees are not refundable if the student is changing one course to another.
e. A minimum of four weeks is required to process the refund after the request has been made in writing with supporting documents.
f. Fees are refunded if the student has withdrawn his/her application before applying for a visa. No withdrawal is allowed after launching a visa application.
g. Tuition fees (or any sum paid on account thereof) will not be refunded in any case where forged or irregular documents of any kind have been lodged by any student in support of his/her visa application. Also no refund will be made if the College has withdrawn CAS for submitting forged documents by the student.
h. No interest is paid on a refund of any deposit.
i. No refunds are due when students postpone the commencement of their course while in UK.
j. The College administration reserves the right to amend refund policies. Refunds are made subject to the prior approval of the College Administrative Committee.
k. The College reserves the right to withdraw advertised courses for which insufficient numbers of students have enrolled and to close any classes if low attendance makes it no longer viable.
